Trust Your Gut.

Do you trust your intuition 100% of the time? I feel like this was something that my Mother said constantly, but until I took a look back and saw where I did or didn’t listen to my own instincts, did it actually click and I realized, Oh WOW that was my gut telling me the entire time. Sound familiar?

I can go back to countless times where I stuck around too long, whether it be, in a relationship, a job, a friendship, or just a situation because I didn’t listen to what my heart and intuition were telling me. The same red flags and doubts that you question in the beginning will not just dissipate to nothing and vanish. They will linger, disappear, and resurface over again.

It is part of trusting who we are, self awareness, and being unauthentically our true selves. It takes time to master, if we ever really do. Many years ago, I had this pit in my stomach , I didn’t know why, but it told me to check my boyfriend at the times phone. I did, against my better judgement, and he was telling another girl how she was so beautiful. I never did this, I never went through phones or invaded someone’s privacy like this, but that told me everything . I stayed around longer than I should have, and we eventually split up, but to this day I learned a valuable lesson. I learned to listen to myself no matter what.

Our instincts are felt from our gut, when we’re not trusting what it’s telling us, we’re more likely making snap decisions, judging ourselves, overthinking, or listening to the should haves instead. The reality we create for ourselves is the place we live. Everyone’s is different, and getting outside of your own head is a great way to begin learning to trust your intuition. Being mindful, slowing down, reflecting, and meditating, are great ways to listen and feel the sensations and feelings we are going through.

Next time you feel unsure, or question something, slow down and listen to what your body and mind are telling you.
